Where can I go from Your Spirit? Where can I flee from Your Presence? If I ascend into Heaven You are there. If I make my bed in Hell behold, You are there. If I take the morning wings and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea Even then Your hand leads me and Your right hand holds me. Psalm 139:7-10
Our family has been blessed with a wonderful dog. She is a Min Pin and is such a wonderfully loyal dog. But as loyal as she is she is not perfect. She is a house pet. So most of her day is spent inside, where she has her play times and her many nap. As I write she is beside me the loyal and loving dog that she is determined to be my best friend, my protector.
Not too long ago as me and the children were on our way out to go to school, Dora darted out determined to be freed. Here little body was getting up pretty good speed and before we knew it she was half way around the neighborhood. She was free, surly no one would find her and she could live awhile is complete defiance. Well to make a long story short, after a few moments of trying to get her inside, she caught traction and raced her way into the house where she hid under the bed. I knew exactly where she was because in her acts of defiance that’s where she goes.
“You can run but you can’t hide” rings so true doesn’t it. Lets think for a minute about our God. Our Lord is omnipresent, which means He is everywhere all the time. So if He is everywhere all the time you probably have guessed there is really no where to hide. Every now and then I get that traction beneath my feet and I dart in search of freedom, freedom my way. In complete defiance I will do things in my time and in my way, which then leads me to quickly try and find a hiding place where I am filled with guilt. The master calls and still i resist. I somehow forget that He already knows where I am, and I proceed to camoflague myself. But much like my little pooch I give up and apologize, not exactly with a hand nudge for a pat on the head, but a bended knee for forgiveness.
Even those who don’t believe in our Lord Jesus will be shocked to find that they will bow in reverence to his radiance as they have made their beds in hell. God is with you everywhere, some just don’t claim His exisitance or His presence.
